Flathead Lake, Montana

We drove from Whitefish to Polson today, such a gorgeous drive. Went to a museum in Polson called Miracle of America, very funky museum, has a lot of crazy but fun stuff to see. The rest of the pictures are of Flathead Lake and the area around that.

Whitefish, Montana and a little more of Glacier

We're leaving Glacier today, but didn't want to leave before we were able to go on a hike, it had been raining too hard before, but we were able to go on a beautiful hike before we headed for Whitefish, Montana. This is such a gorgeous park, it's hard to leave.

More West side of Glacier

Drove through another part of Glacier Natl Park, still on the West side, hard to say if one side is prettier than the other. Been raining for about 24 hours now, but it's suppossed to be better tomorrow. A bear crossed the road right in front of us, a big black bear, but I couldn't get a picture, he was too fast. But we did see another bear, a baby bear and was able to get a picture and a video, he was only about 10 feet away. There is so much to do here, tons of hiking, kayaking, sightseeing.

Came across a field with lots of horses and mules and coyotes

There are deer all over

West side of Glacier

We left our campground this morning heading for Whitefish, but didn't make it but about 20 miles down the road. We're staying near the West entrance now, in a beautiful campground, and we actually have service again.
Gorgeous day we woke up to. Started in the west entrance, missed turn in the road and ended up having a great time. We talked to a gal on a mountain bike and she suggested we go about 12 miles on a dirt road to a "town" called Polebridge, she said they have the best baked goods you'll ever have and it's a beautiful drive. Why not? we said. We stopped along the way at a little gift store/restaurant that seemed to be out in the middle of nowhere, ended up staying about an hour talking with the owner and a customer. He told us we had to see Bowman Lake and told us about another dirt road about 6 miles past Polebridge. So off we went, got to Polebridge, which actually consists of two buildings and runs on a generator, there isn't electricity out in that area, and the baked goods were fabulous, we got a Huckleberry Pie for dessert and yummy cookies for the road. Continued on to Bowman Lake, which was gorgeous, by now it had started raining. We drove a little farther and saw lots of deer in the fields.
As we were driving back to our campground, the skies decided to open up and we had tons of rain, a little hail, and an incredible thunder and lightening show!!
At the campground we're staying at, they have an outside pit BBQ, Glacier BBQ it's called and they cook the meat over Cottonwood, we had our scrumptuous Father's Day dinner outside by a fire, it was a covered patio and it was raining and delicious.

Hard to see, but these are Mountain Goats on the hill, it's near Goat Lick, these goats travel from Canada, sometimes over 100 miles to get the minerals from this area, they only do this once a year.
